How to Care for Bamboo in the Winter Months

Winter is the toughest season for bamboo products. Low temperatures, moisture, snow and ice can damage the bamboo structure. Pre-winter preparation: a thorough clean at the end of autumn, applying protective oil or varnish, repairing cracked and damaged sections. Snow and ice management: clear snow build-up with a soft broom and add support under heavy snow loads. Moisture and frost protection: apply a waterproof protective coating and ensure ventilation. Carry out a visual check once a week throughout the winter. After winter: a comprehensive clean and wash, damage assessment and repair, and a fresh protective treatment.
